André Chastel Centre meetings: Digital Delacroix
The Digital Delacroix project took centre stage at the André Chastel Centre's monthly seminar, with the team presenting its work on AI, 3D visualization and digital humanities to fellow art historians.
For its fifteenth consecutive year, the André Chastel Centre is running its programme of monthly scientific gatherings for 2025–2026, examining art history from the medieval period to the present day. The series features lectures, panel discussions and publication launches highlighting recent scholarship from members, associates and doctoral researchers.
This year's programme is coordinated by Claire Boisseau (CNRS), Anne Lepoittevin (Sorbonne Université) and Dalila Meenen (Sorbonne Université), with support from Grégoire Aslanoff (CNRS) and Delphine Thierry-Mieg (CNRS).
The April session was devoted to Digital Delacroix. Presenters Barthélémy Jobert, Motasem Alrahabi, Baptiste Dumas-Piro, Baptiste Gregorutti, Gaëlle Lafage and Nicolas Leys introduced a multidisciplinary initiative that aims to deepen the understanding of Eugène Delacroix’s work through the use of artificial intelligence, 3D visualization, physico-chemical analysis and digital humanities.
